Season’s Greetings, Squamish Community!
I’m excited to share the heartwarming success of the recent Holly Jolly Photos with Santa fundraiser event that unfolded on December 2, 2023. The event was a resounding success, with our community coming together to celebrate the holiday spirit while contributing to a meaningful cause. I am pleased to announce that, collectively, we raised over $1000 for the Squamish Food Bank, alongside significant donations of food and diapers. This generous support reflects the compassion and camaraderie that define our small town.
The festivities of the day were a testament to the unity of our community, as families engaged in various activities. From the creative endeavors of decorating edible Christmas ornaments and gingerbread men to the touching tradition of children writing heartwarming letters to Santa, the event resonated with the warmth of the season. The kids showcased their artistic talents in a coloring contest, and the excitement reached a peak with the 50/50 draw. The lucky winner, revealed on December 4th, experienced an extra touch of holiday magic, thanks to the collective enthusiasm.
I extend my sincere appreciation to the sponsors whose support was integral to the success of this event. Tara Rayner from The Mortgage Group, Evelyn Schellenberg (my fellow RE/MAX Sea to Sky real estate agent), and The Whistler Fireplace Company, your generosity has left an indelible mark on our community, and I am so grateful for your partnership!
Beyond the festivities
This event served as a reminder of the remarkable community we share in Squamish. It is not merely about seasonal decorations; rather, it is a testament to our collective commitment to making a positive impact. As we bid farewell to this year’s Holly Jolly Photos with Santa, I am already looking forward to the opportunities the new year holds for our community. More events, more laughter, and more chances for us to come together and continue making Squamish a vibrant and supportive place to call home.
In conclusion, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each member of the Squamish community for making this Holly Jolly day unforgettable. I wish you all a holiday season filled with joy, laughter, and the warmth of community.
Warm regards,
Em Smith, Your Local Real Estate Professional ❤️
